Snipe Class Capitol Ship Assault Craft

Snipe, Mk. 3

The Mk. 3 snipe is virtually the same as the Mk. 2 model, the changes are the addition of 2 Menson cannons, (not to be confused with meson blasters), Menson cannons fire short ranged energy bursts, with a verry nice destructive ability, and can be quite letal, that being just on a fighter. The Menson cannons are operated on a separate power source but have the ability to run off the ships main reactor as well (not recommended), and take approx. 30 seconds or more to charge enough to fire, the engines still retain the ability to generage power for the ship, the rotery cannons remain roughly the same, however have been given a slightly higher RPM, which is still adjustable.

Crew counts have been modified, the positions to be occupied on the Mk, 3 are as follows.

Rear Turrets - 2

Front/Nose Turret - 1

Navigator/Comms - 1

Engineer - 1 to 2

Pilot - 1 to 2

Snipe, Mk. 2

This is probaly the largest fighter designed by TSF, it takes 4 spaces in a fighter bay as oposed to 1 (Dralthan takes 1 space), it has a crew count of 4 people, 5 if someone is to moniter rador and communications. 2 people are in back operating the cannons, 1 person is in front on the underside operating the single cannon, the pilot obviously has controll of the ship, the 2 large cannons on the front, and the 2 phaser cannons attached to the back wing. The large rotery cannons are capable of firing 120 shots per second when moving at full rpm, the smaller cannon on the front fires 80 shots a second, the cannosn on the rear fire 65 shots per second, the ammunition are more like projectiles, they use a type of plasma bullet, they function like a plasma cannon, but fire 1 shot at a time, there are 4 large store bays for the 2 large rotery cannons, the one on the underside of the nose runs off a separate line, as to the cannons in the rear, the forward cannons must be fired in bursts, or they will slow the ship down quickly. Also 2 large phaser cannons are positioned on the rear wing, they have a extremely destructive rate, however can only fire 1 shot every 3 seconds, it is also armed with 8 high powered torpedoes, designed for use against capitol ships, not fighters. They have a moderate speed, high maneuverability, and artificial intelligence that can actually allow them to dodge incoming fire, when they strike a ships hull, it will gurantee a large hole, if it strikes shields, they are not quite as effective, however they can drop the enemies shielding. It is powered by 3, Turbo MS engines, they have alot of power behind them, though not as fast as many fighters, they can accellerate quickly, the Snipe is the only fighter so far with a large enough powerplant for thease massive engines, which incidently also have some internal power generation. The ship itself handles somewhat like a pig, it can hang in a fight against regular fighters, however it can easily be outmaneuvered, hence the 2 cannons in rear. If a fighter should try and face a Snipe head on, there is no way he will survive. One footnote, the rotery cannons have optional RPM settings for better performance, and projectile mileage.

Snipe, Mk. 1

The Mk. 1 version of the Snipe is not listed, it was surpassed by the Mk. 2
